Professor Sid Whitaker comments on NYS lieutenant governor’s resignation

 

Professor Sid Whitaker commented about corruption in state politics during a WRGB CBS News 6 evening broadcast on Wednesday, April 13 in the aftermath of the resignation of New York State’s lieutenant governor due to his arrest on federal charges.

Dr. Whitaker teaches political science in the Education and Social Sciences Department.

On April 12, 2022, Brian Benjamin resigned as lieutenant governor after being indicted earlier that day on charges of bribery, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and two counts of falsification of records. He pleaded not guilty to all charges during an arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ona T. Wang in New York City.
